Day 1
Collection from airport by Archie our registered tour guide in his air-conditioned car, van or bus.
Settle in – depending on your mood may I suggest the following two neighborhood restaurants for your evening meal.
Wijnhuis or Barristers in Newlands Village - walking distance from Riversong – both restaurants offer excellent service and good food. Winner our Night manager can walk with you to the restaurant or you can call a taxi - it is about a 10 minute walk from the guest house.
Or
If you are too tired you can call Mr. Delivery or Butlers Pizza and enjoy an early night with dinner in your room.
Please prepare for your outings by taking, cameras, water, hats, sunscreen and a jacket with. (even in summer it may look warm but it is very cold on top of the mountain and windy areas close to the Atlantic Ocean.
Day 2
Archie to collect you from the Guest House at the time you arranged with him.
Suggest a visit to our local Food market - the Biscuit Factory which starts 9.30 and ends 2.30pm - this market is only open on a Saturday morning – “Local is Lekker” (lekker means nice or good!). The Market is a great open air local foodie/trendy/flee market place. Tip do not have a large breakfast if you want to take advantage of the free tastings offered at the market. The market has other interesting stalls and shops - not only food. (Clothing, beads, home wares)
Afterwards quick city orientation drive around the City Centre to hear our it all started.
Then a visit to Table Mountain via Cable Car.
Next stop Green Market square in City centre. (African Curios and arts and craft).
Then on to Victoria & Alfred Water front for shopping and sightseeing.
At 3pm you catch the ferry to Robben Island (this is where Mr. Mandela was imprisoned for many years). You need to be there 1/2 hour before to collect your tickets which we booked for you.
Please take a jacket with as it can be chilly on the Atlantic Ocean.
Suggest an early dinner at any of the many V&A Waterfront restaurants and you take one of the many taxis available back to the Guest House at your leisure. Groups can split up or stick together.
Day 3
Archie to collect you to do the Wine lands Tour. (Full day)
You will visit Stellenbosch (Dutch influence) and Franschoek (French influence). This is not only a wine tour but a visit to historic towns and villages along the way. There are stops at the Cheetah sanitary, farm stalls, art galleries and curio shops. The scenery is stunning. A wonderful tour even if you are not interested in wines and cheeses.
Suggest: Early dinner at Moyo at Spier at 6pm near Stellenbosch - is highly recommended for a wonderful African Experience and great food and entertainment to end the day.
